West Hampstead House Prices Surge by 25 Per Cent
House prices in the London Borough of Camden, which includes West Hampstead, rocketed by 25.1% in the first quarter of 2010, according to BBC Online.
This rise is the highest quarterly rise in London, leading many experts to suggest that West Hampstead is recovering from the slump in the property market much quicker than other areas of the capital.
When the figures are broken down by property type, the figure goes up to a stunning 91.6% rise in the price of detached houses, with the average price in the area now standing at just under a cool £5 million.
This figure is based on a sample of only 12 sales during the period, but it still indicates a phenomenal recovery in the local property market.
The prices for semi-detached and terraced houses aren't quite rising at the same blistering rate, but are still rising much faster than the rest of London, with annual and quarterly percentage rises in the high twenties and low thirties. The average price of semi-detached and terraced housing stands at between £1m and £2m.
